Manuel Schaedler
Consultant
Manuel Schaedler is a Consultant within Altai’s West Africa and Sahel team, based in Dakar. He contributes to the Monitoring and Learning System for the Sahel and Lake Chad window of the EU Trust Fund for Africa, focusing on economic and employment opportunities, especially in Mali, Mauritania, Ghana, and Nigeria.
Prior to joining Altai, Manuel worked as a project manager in the area of sustainable economic development at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Hanoi, Viet Nam, where he focused on portfolio development, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting. Before switching to project implementation, he was responsible for the bilateral development cooperation with Morocco within the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), managing the government negotiations, strategic programming, and project oversight processes of German-Moroccan development cooperation. He also completed a postgraduate training programme at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), where he conducted qualitative field research on local accountability mechanisms in Togo.
Manuel holds a Master’s degree from Sciences Po Paris and the Freie Universität Berlin in Political Science – International Affairs, as well as a Master’s degree in Continental Philosophy from Staffordshire University.
